CT Scan

Cross-sectional imaging with X-rays, fast and high-resolution.

Definition

Computed tomography uses rotating X-rays to build cross-sectional images. Excellent for bone, bleeding, trauma, and lung detail. Fast (seconds to minutes) but involves ionising radiation, so not used lightly in young patients.
