Dyspnea

The sensation of breathlessness or shortness of breath.

Definition

Dyspnea is subjective breathlessness. Causes range from deconditioning and anxiety to asthma, heart failure, anaemia, and pulmonary embolism. Sudden, severe, or rest dyspnea is a red flag and needs urgent assessment.
